USA: Weekly export sales hit their peak since the start of season

In the week between January 13 and January 19, export wheat sales from the USA turned out to be the highest since the start of the season despite low expectations by analysts - 200 – 525,000 tons.

The biggest amount of soft white wheat was sold in the past week: record level since 2013.

Export sales of American wheat have outgrown those of last year by 34,2% since the start of season.

The biggest buyers in the week were an unspecified buyer with 212,300 tons, Morocco with 210,000 tons, Indonesia with 140,000 tons, Mexico with 84,400 tons and China with 60,000 tons. Taiwan cancelled earlier negotiated amount of 100 tons.

Nigeria 76,800 tons, South Korea 56,800 tons, Guatemala 48,800 tons, The Philippines 33,000 tons and Mexico 24,300 tons were the biggest wheat buyers in the week.
