Brazilian ports will decrease corn export while increasing soybean export in February

Between February and the beginning of March soybean export from Brazilian ports will jump by 97% compared with last season up to 4.39 mln tons.

Export increase is due to the fast pace of soybean harvesting as well as high demand worldwide; 4% of soybean areas in Brazil have already been harvested.

Abiove reports that soybean production in Brazil will be 101.7 mln tons in the current season, which will allow a record export increase of 58 mln tons.

The number of ships which will take corn cargo from Brazilian ports in February will plummet compared with February 2016. Traders do not have big corn stocks and some of them sell mainly on the domestic market. High corn prices in Brazil are currently preventing its export. Export will resume after June, following the harvesting of the second yield in the country.
