Commodity Weather Group analysers predict that the unususally warm wether in USA's wheat belt will bring crops out of their hibernation within the next 10 days.

The air temperature in the Great Plains has reached 20 – 23 degrees with some parts of Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas experiencing even higher temperatures. Temperature in the Mid-West has reached 20 degrees Celsius. The expected temperature fall will slow the processes, but it could also cause unwanted negative effect on the crops.

Algeria has purchased 50,000 tons of barley fodder of random origin to be delivered between March 1 and March 15.

Egypt's state company GACS has announced an auction for the purchase of 25,000 tons of soybean oil and 10,000 tons of sunflower oil of random origin to be delivered before April 20, 2017.

Ethiopia has carried out an auction for the purchase of 400,000 tons of milling wheat of random origin to be delivered between March and May.

Official data in Portugal states that 1.3 mln decares of winter crops have been sowed in the country, which is the lowest level for the past five years. Following the lack of rain, soft wheat areas have been decreased by 10% while hard wheat areas have been cut down by 15%.
