Turkey imported 75.3 million USD worth of grain in January, which is 4.2% higher than January 2016. Wheat import has grown by 9.8% to 50 mln USD. Deliveries from Russia are worth 44.4 mln USD, foloowed by Lithuania with 7.6 mln USD, Bosnia with 4.9 mln USD and France with 3.2 mln USD.
As of the moment, Egypt has wheat reserves to meet domestic demand in the next four months. This reserve includes all wheat purchases up to the moment. In the period between March and April, the prepurchased 1.665 mln tons of wheat will be delivered in Egypt.
The future grain yield in Morocco may grow to 7 mln tons, which is 100% higher than the prvious troublesome year – 3.35 mln tons of grain, the country's Ministry of Agriculture reported.
According to the updated CEC forecast, farmers in South Africa will harvest a very good oilseed yield in 2017 – 1.07 mln tons, which will be 0.3 mln tons more than 2015 – 2016. Oilseed areas will grow by 13% to 0.542 mln ha. Sunflower areas will decrease by 12% versus last year down to 0.666 mln ha. Higher production is expected and yield will reach 929,000 tons (755,000).
