On March 30, 2017 Tunisia will carry out an auction for the purchase of 100,000 tons of soft wheat and 75,000 tons of barley fodder of random origin to be delivered between May and July.

Iraq has announced an auction for the import of at least 50,000 tons of hard wheat from Australia, Canada and the USA.

Jordan has cancelled an auction for the purchase of 100,000 tons of barley fodder.

The Philippines bought 45,000 tons of wheat fodder from the EU or the Black Sea region at 186 USD/ton C&F to be delivered in the second half of July. 20,000 tons of milling wheat were purchased at 190 USD/ton C&F.

On March 28, 2017 Algeria bought 200,000 tons of hard wheat at 250 – 253 USD/ton C&F most likely from Canada or the USA.

Japan has announced a regular auction for the purchase of 120,000 tons of wheat fodder and 200,000 tons of barley fodder to be delivered before July 31, 2017.

The Egyptian authorities will not ban wheat imported by private entities.

Soybean yield in Brazil will be record high in the current season according to an Oil World estimate – 108.5 mln tons versus 95.43 mln tons last year. The export is expected to grow by +9.8 mln tons to 61.4 mln tons.

On March 29, 2017 the authorities in China auctioned 1,500 tons of wheat from the national stocks which had been imported. The price at the auction was 370.08 USD/ton.

0.762 mln hectares of the spring sowing in Russia has been completed or 1.4% of the planned areas versus 0.836 mln hectares in 2016 . 0.537 mln hectares (1.7% and 6.13) have been sowed with grains.

The government of Indonesia has agreed to reduce the export tax on unrefined palm oil from 18 USD/ton to 3 USD/ton. Earlier, Malaysia reduced the tax from 8% to 7.5%.
