Since The Start Of Season, Wheat Export From The EU Is 18% Lower Than Last Season

Over the week ending on 6.04.2017, 236,000 tons of wheat were exported from the EU versus 359,000 tona a week earlier.

18.3 mln tons of wheat have been exported from the EU since the start of the season, which is18% lower than the same period of last year, according to information from the European Commission.

Over the first seven months of the season, 6.3 mln tons of soft wheat have been exported from France, which is 45% less than the same period of last year. Export to non-EU countries has declined by 55% to 3.0 mln tons. In February, wheat export was 697,000 tons including 458,000 tons to EU countries. Algeria and Morocco were the biggest non-EU buyers. In February, barley export was 142,000 tons including to Tunisia, Jordan and Israel. Since the start of the season, export to non-EU countries has reached 1.3 mln tons (-62%). Since the start of the season, corn export has increased by 45% to 419,000 tons.
