FAS USDA: In 2017 – 2018, Grain Production And Export From The EU Will Grow

According to the latest FAS USDA forecast, grain production and export from the EU will grow in 2017 – 2018.

Assuming the weather conditions will be normal, grain yield will reach 306.5 mln tons, which is 9 mln tons more than the current season, but 6.5 mln tons less than 2015 – 2016.

Wheat yield will reach 151.7 mln tons (145.5 mln tons in the current season) and this will be the third highest result in history. Corn yield will be 62.0 mln tons (60.75) while barley yield will be 60.8 mln tons (60.0).

Wheat export will reach 29.0 mln tons (27.0), corn export will be 2.5 mln tons (2.25) and barley export will be 7.5 mln tons (5.5).

Domestic grain consumption will remain steady – 129.25 mln tons of wheat (129), 73.65 mln tons of corn (71.625) and 53.0 mln tons of barley (55.4).
