USA: Export Wheat Sales Grow Bigger Than Last Year

Following two consecutive weeks of very good export sales of American wheat, last week brought sales lower than the upper level expected on the market – 250,000 – 450,000 tons, which is related to wheat growing more expensive in Chicago.

Despite this, since the start of the season, the advantage on the previous season has grown to 41% versus 39.7% a week earlier. Soft wheat sales (SRW), however, are 23% short.

Wheat forward sales of new 2017 yield are slower than last year's – 1.439 mln tons to 1.622 mln tons.

China with 112,900 tons, Nigeria with 99,000 tons, Japan with 63,900 tons, Sudan with 55,000 tons, Chile with 31,500 tons and Yemen with 31,000 tons were this week's biggest wheat buyers. Old purchases have been cancelled by an unspecified buyer 76,600 tons, Indonesia 6,200 tons and Italy 1,900 tons.

Over the week, the biggest wheat receivers were Indonesia with 76,300 tons, Mexico 71,700 tons, Japan 60,400 tons, China 60,400 tons, Algeria 57,800 tons and the Philippines 49,500 tons.
