For the week ended on 27.04.2017 from EU for third countries are exported 322 000 tonnes of soft wheat including 135 000 tonnes French wheat.Since the beginning of the season 20.29 mln.tonnes of soft wheat were exported including 3.84 mln.tonnes French wheat,which is 18% less than the previous season.

The authorities in Morocco increased the import duties for soft wheat from  30% to 135%, which will be applied until the end of the year.Such a high tariff hasn't been introduced for years, but now, due to the low wheat prices in the world and the good crops in the country this measure was taken.In the current year crops of soft wheat will be 4.94 mln.tonnes, and that of durum wheat 2.33 mln.tonnes.For the past year the crops of soft wheat was only 2.7 mln.tonnes. Morocco in a net importer of wheat even in the  good for the local crops years.In the period May - September the authorities traditionally increase the import duties, and the period October - April is the import campaign.

From the beginning of the season until 26.04.2017 from Ukraine have been exported 302 000 tonnes of flour which is 43 000 tonnes more than for the same period of the last year.Almost all quantities were wheat flour - 301 500 tonnes (+44 300).

As of 28.04.2017 in Russia 8.0 mln.tonnes ha are cropped with spring cultures or 15.2% of the areas and compared to 9.8 mln.ha in 2016. Cropped with grains are 4.5 mln.ha (14.5% and 5.9), including spring wheat 589 600 ha (4.3% and 791 100), spring barley 2.1 mln.ha (27.4% and 2.8), corn 1.0 mln.ha (34.2% and 1.2), rice 7 200 ha (3.4% and 19 400). With spring rapeseed were cropped 86 700 ha (9.9% and 69 700)., and with soybean 101 300 ha (4.5% and 145 400).

In January-February 2017 FOB price of the standard white-grained Australian wheat was 190 USD/ton, which is the lowest level for the last 10 years. At this price the farmers do not sell wheat expecting growth. Consequently the price went up to 200 USD/ton, but remained much under the average price of 220 – 240 USD/ton reached in the last years.
