The government of China starts selling corn from the state reserve. On 05.05.2017 an auction offering 2.51 mln. tonnes of corn from the 2012-2013 crop was carried out. Corn stocks in the state fund now amount to 230 mln. tonnes.

In 2017 - 2018 grain yield in Lithuania reaches 5.25 mln. tonnes, 3.4% more than the previous season, according to FAS USDA. Areas under grain cultivation during the season reach 1.282 mln. ha , which is above the previous season level. Wheat yield will reach 3.8 mln. tonnes - without change from the current season, barley 0.73 mln. toness (0.6). Last season the country exported the record 4.1 mln. tonnes of grain, incl. 3.5 mln. tonnes of wheat. During the current season, the EU expects grain exports to drop to 3.0 mln. tonnes, incl. wheat 2.8 mln. tonnes.

On 3.05.2017. The Taiwanese MIPA Association purchased 65,000 tonnes of corn with July-August shipment at December contract price in Chicago + 0.8219 USD/bushel. Most likely the corn will be from Argentina.

According to Oil World forecast, in the second half of 2016 - 2017, the global export of sunflower meal will reach 3.09 mln. tonnes given 4.2 mln. tonnes in the period October - March. The result will be 0.3 mln. tonnes (+ 12%) higher than the same period of the previous season. From April to September 1.81 mln. tonnes of the product (1.67), Russia's 0.57 mln. tonnes (0.4), Argentina 0.45 mln. tonnes (0.45) will be exported from Ukraine.
