In April 2017 the export of corn from Brazil reached 154,700 tonnes, down by 53.2% compared to April 2016 and by 18.6% less than in March 2017.
The export of corn in value terms amounts to 27.1 mln. USD, which is by 48.2% less than in April 2016.
The sharp decline in the export is due to the poor Brazil corn yield in 2016. In 2017 the crop is expected to reach record levels. At present the first crop of corn is almost harvested.
In April soybean export reached 10.43 mln. tonnes given 10.09 mln. tonnes in April 2016.
Export of ethanol increases to 127.5 mln. liters in the month, up by 240% more than in March 2017 and 180% more than in April 2016.
