As of May 22nd, 2017 in Russia the spring sowing is completed on areas of 34.9 mln. ha or 66.3% of the plan given 35.9 mln. ha in 2016. Spring grain crops are sown on 21.2 mln. ha (68.3% and 21.8), incl. spring wheat 7.7 mln. ha (56.6% and 8.4), spring barley 5.9 mln. ha (77.3% and 6.4), corn 2.5 mln. ha (83.2% and 2.4). 5.6 mln. ha (78.6% and 5.4) are under sunflower cultivation, 662.600 ha (70.8% and 641.100) under spring rapeseed, 1.3 mln. ha (59.6% and 943.600 hectares) under soybeans.
Since the beginning of the campaign, the State Fund of Egypt has bought 2.33 mln. tonnes of wheat from farmers.
