Australia: Strong demand of barley increases its price

In the current season the price of the abrley in Australia rose sharply due to strong export demand.

According to ProFarmer’s estimates, from the beginning of the season (December 2016), the price of feed barley has risen by 33 USD /mt.

In the first seven months of the season Australia exported 5.9 million tonnes of barley, which is almost twice more than the previous year - 3.2 million tonnes. The highest demand came from Saudi Arabia, Japan and China.
