Brazil: In 2017 – 2018 the soybeans areas increase insignificantly

According to a research of Reuters, in 2017 – 2018 the soybeans areas in Brazil will increase by 2% despite the huge supply of production on the world markets to 85.7 mln acres.

There will be a replacement of some of the corn areas at the expense of those with soybeans. Now soybeans  is more profitable than corn. The biggest growth of the areas will be in the southern parts of the country, incl. Parana.
In 2016 - 2017 the crop results in Brazil were reached thanks to a record high yield of 3.4 tonnes / ha. In the new season the areas will decrease by 3% to 110.6 million ha. Under favorable natural conditions, the average soybeans yield will be 3.15 tonnes / ha.
