News from Argentina

According to INDEC, in July, soybeanslowers to 583,000 tonnes at 1.32 million tonnes in July 2016.

Reduced sales by farmers and high competition on part of Brazil and the United States are the factors that impact the reduction.

China exported 0.5 million tonnes of soybeans (1.14) and Egypt (0.042 million tonnes) (0.16).

During the month, the export of soybean oil was 474,000 tonnes (498,000), incl. for India 234,000 tonnes (287,000). Export of soybean meal reached 2.94 million tonnes (2.49), incl. for the EU 1.28 million tonnes (0.6).

Prolonged precipitation in Argentina is a reason for spring sowing to slow down. Most unfavorable are the conditions in the provinces of La Palma, Cordoba, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires.

Corn sowing, which starts in September, will be delayed. Under these conditions, farmers can switch to soybeans by replacing corn.
