In 2016 wheat crop in the country reaches 14.4 million tonnes (-45%).

According to Cargill, in August 2017, Brazil's corn export reaches 5 million tonnes. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, during the season the export of corn will be 35 million tonnes, compared to 28 million tonnes in the previous forecast. The Anec Association expects 30 million tonnes to be exported. During the period August 2017 - January 2018 export of Brazilian corn will be around 50% of the total global export of corn.

The European Commission increased the import duty on corn, sorghum and rye  from 5.16 EUR / mt to 10.95 EUR / mt. The duty of EUR 5.16 per tonne was introduced in August after almost three years of duty-free import.

On September 1, 2017. the authorities in China sold 696,919 tonnes of corn from the state reserve. This is 57.59% of the proposed quantity. The corn is from crop 2011 - 2013. and can only be used for the production of ethanol.

Iraq purchased 60,000 tonnes of rice from Pakistan and Uruguay at price of 416 USD / mt, C & F and 580.50 USD / mt,  C & F.
