- As of August 6, 2021, 21.7 million hectares of cereals have been harvested in Russia, 68.2 million tons of grain have been harvested at an average yield of 3.14 tons/hectare (3.47 in 2020). Wheat was harvested on 15.2 million hectares, 51.8 million tons of wheat were harvested at an average yield of 3.40 tons/hectare (3.67). 4.2 million hectares were harvested with barley, 11.7 million tons of barley were harvested at an average yield of 2.76 tons/hectare (3.14). Yield differences between 2021 and 2020 increase as the campaign progresses. Given that in 2021 the drought affected the central regions of Russia more, the wheat production will certainly not exceed 76-77 million tons.
- In July, Ukraine exported 960,600 tons of wheat (1.2 million tons a year earlier), barley exports were 1.1 million tons (+31%) and corn exports reached 961,900 tons (424,900).
- In the first 11 months of the season, 5.08 million tons of sunseed oil were exported from Ukraine. 306,000 tons of oil remained for export in August.
- According to FranceAgriMer, as of 27.07.2021, 66% of the areas with soft wheat (97% a year earlier) and 68% of the areas with spring barley (79%) have been harvested in France. 90% of the corn crops (74%) are in good and excellent condition.
- On Friday, commodity funds were net buyers of 4,000 contracts corn, 3,500 contracts soybeans and 3,500 contracts wheat.
- According to data from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, as of 04.08.2021, the sowing campaign of wheat has been completed in Argentina and a total of 6.48 million hectares have been sown. 48% of the crops are in good and excellent condition (55% a week earlier). Corn was harvested on 5.46 million hectares (89% of the total areas), 43.1 million tons of corn were harvested at an average yield of 7.88 tons/hectare.
- In June, 35,680 tons of malting barley were exported from Australia (64,750 tons in June), which is the lowest level for the year. The export of feed barley was 361,120 tons (805,540). The main buyers of feed barley were Japan, Iraq, Vietnam and Thailand. Sorghum exports reached 188,460 tons (109,890).
- According to Chinese statistics, China imported 8.67 million tons of soybeans in July, which is 14.1% less than in July 2020 - 10.09 million tons. In the first 7 months of 2021, soybean imports reached 57.63 million tons (+4.5%).
- Tunisia has purchased 75,000 tons of soft wheat at a price within 312.89 - 317.68 USD/ton C&F and 100,000 tons of feed barley at prices within 292.97 - 297.98 USD/ton C&F.
