Given the drought in Russia, winter wheat areas will be reduced compared to 2020. According to SovEcon, the decrease will be within 0.7 - 1.2 million hectares and according to ICAR it will be within 0.5 - 1 million hectares.

- From 01.11.2021, the export tax on sunseed oil from Russia will reach 194.5 USD/ton compared to 227.2 USD/ton in October and 169.9 USD/ton in September.

- Given the drought in Russia, winter wheat areas will be reduced compared to 2020. According to SovEcon, the decrease will be within 0.7 - 1.2 million hectares and according to ICAR it will be within 0.5 - 1 million hectares. In 2020, winter wheat areas reached 17.8 million hectares. Usually, the areas with winter wheat occupy 70% of the total wheat areas. As of 30.09.2021, 10.8 million hectares have been sown with winter wheat.

- In their October report, analysts from Strategie Grains raised their forecast for the EU rapeseed production in 2021/22 to 17.03 million tons from 16.93 million tons in the previous estimate (16.61 million tons in 2020/21 and 15.58 million tons in 2019/20). The sunseed production is projected to reach 9.95 million tons (9.63 and 8.71) and the soybean production is estimated at 2.67 million tons (2.66 and 2.58).

- According to Statistic Canada, 765,100 tons of cereals and oilseeds were exported from the country over the period of September 20 - 26 (786,800 a week earlier). Wheat exports reached 265,300 tons (329,400), durum exports reached 36,500 tons (63,600), canola exports were 75,600 tons (90,100), barley exports amounted to 225,200 tons (76,500), corn exports reached 35,400 tons and the export of oats reached 56,400 tons (17,400). Over the period of 01.08 - 26.09.2021, the export of cereals and oilseeds was 4.7 million tons (-34%), including wheat exports of 2.4 million tons (-27%) and canola exports of 464,300 tons (-72%). In August, canola processing in Canada decreased by 20%.

- According to Abitrigo, Brazil increased wheat imports to 594,140 tons in August, which is 1% more than in July. Wheat imports from Argentina were 537,900 tons (+22%), 3,000 tons from Paraguay (41,300), 504 tons from Uruguay (51,500), 33,000 tons from the United States, 7,650 tons from Canada and 12,000 tons from Russia. Over the period of January - August, wheat imports totaled 4.42 million tons (4.51), including 3.78 million tons from Argentina, 277,500 tons from Paraguay, 273,100 tons from Uruguay.

- According to Oil World, Argentina will maintain a high level of biodiesel exports of 110,000 - 130,000 tons in September and will increase it to 150,000 tons over October - December. For 2021, exports are estimated to reach 1.2 million tons (0.59 a year earlier). The EU remains the biggest buyer. Blending oils into diesel fuel in the country has been reduced from 10% to 5% with the prospect of reducing it to 3%. Thus, soyoil exports from Argentina will reach a record 6.3 million tons in 2021 (5.6 in 2020).

- Pakistan again bought 550,000 tons of wheat from the required 640,000 tons at a price of 377 USD/ton C&F. 550,000 tons of wheat were also purchased at the previous tenders.

- The state company of Egypt GASC has announced a tender for the purchase of 30,000 tons of soyoil and 10,000 tons of sunseed oil with delivery within 25.11 - 20.12.2021.
