Algeria has bought 120,000 tons of barley of any origin at a price of 323 - 324 USD/ton C&F and delivery within 16.02 - 15.03.2022.

- In the first five months of 2021/22, 2.3 million tons of barley were exported from Russia (3.3 years earlier). The biggest buyers were Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Libya with a total share of exports of 58%.

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 1,000 corn contracts and 15,500 wheat contracts and net sellers of 6,500 soybean contracts.

- In December, soybean crush in the United States reached 5.07 million tons (+3.9% compared to November and -1.8% compared to December 2020).

- According to a forecast by CoBank, during the winter Brazil and Argentina will replace the United States as a leading exporter of soybeans to China. The main factor for this will be the deteriorating relations between the two countries. In 2022, the influence of this factor will direct significant Chinese purchases to Russia and Ukraine. In 2021/22, the total US exports to China of the leading crops (soybeans, corn and wheat) decreased by 1/3.

- From 24.01.2022 exporters of palm oil from Indonesia will be forced to sell some of the purchased/produced palm oil on the domestic market.
