- The Bulgarian government will buy 750,000 tons of wheat and 325,000 tons of sunseed from farmers in order to ensure food security of the population.

- According to the forecast of SovEcon, the wheat production in Russia will reach 87.4 million tons in 2022 (86.5 in the previous estimate), which will be a new record for the country. In 2017, the total grain production was 135.5 million tons, including 86 million tons of wheat. In 2022/23, wheat exports from Russia will be 41 million tons (33.9).

- Rusagrotrans has raised its forecast for the Russian grain production in 2022 to 132 million tons (129 million tons from the previous forecast). The wheat production is expected to reach 84.7 million tons (82.5 from the previous estimate). Barley production will reach 19.5 million tons (+1.5 compared to 2021), and corn production is estimated at 15.1 million tons (unchanged).

- ICAR has raised its forecast for the wheat production in Russia in 2022 by 0.5 million tons to 83.3 million tons.

- Over the week of 27.04 0 - 05.05.2022, the export tax on Russian wheat will be 119.2 USD/ton (110.7 a week earlier). The export tax on barley will be 73.3 USD/ton (76) and the export tax on corn will be 54.9 USD/ton (66.1).

- As of April 22, 2022, 3.026 million hectares have been sown with spring crops in Ukraine, which is 17.9% of the previous year, including 1.541 million hectares with spring cereals (20.7%). 164,400 hectares (+ 85.6%) were sown with spring wheat, 802,200 hectares (60%) with spring barley and 323,300 hectares (5.9%) with corn. 16,400 hectares were sown with spring rape (49.4%), 896,000 hectares with sunseed (13.8%) and 62,000 hectares (4.8%) with soybeans.

- According to data from the Rosario Grain Exchange, the wheat production in the central region of Argentina may decrease by 25% in 2022/23 given the 10% decrease in wheat areas and 20% lower fertilizer use. The production will decrease by 2 million tons (7.8 in 2021/22). The total production in 2021/22 was about 22 million tons.
