- During the week of December 5-11, 212,700 tons of wheat were exported from the Russian port of Novorossiysk, which is more than 50% less than the previous week. The biggest buyers were Pakistan with 52,500 tons, Turkey with 52,500 tons, Syria with 33,500 tons, Egypt with 33,000 tons and Brazil with 26,900 tons.
- During the July-November period, Turkey purchased 3.6 million tons of Russian wheat, according to data from Rusagrotrans. A year earlier, the biggest buyer was Iran with 3.7 million tons, and now it is at third place with 1.7 million tons. In second place this season is Egypt with 3.1 million tons (+12%).
- Over the period of 01.07 - 12.12.2022, 19.355 million tons of grain were exported from Ukraine compared to 28.309 million tons a year earlier, including 1.472 million tons in December (2,213). 7.252 million tons of wheat (15.092), 15.17 million tons of barley (5.042) and 10.508 million tons of corn (7.862) were exported.
- Chicago commodity funds were net sellers of 5,000 wheat and 2,000 soybean contracts and net buyers of 1,500 corn contracts on Friday.
- According to Abiove's forecast, soybean processing in Brazil will reach 52.5 million tons in 2022/23 (49.7 a year earlier). Soymeal production will be 40.2 million tons (+2.2) and soyoil production is expected at 10.7 million tons (+0.6). The soybean production will be 153.5 million tons (+25.6), and soybean exports will reach 93 million tons (+15.5).
- According to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2.04 million tons of wheat were exported from Australia in October, which is 14% more than in September - 1.78 million tons. The largest buyers were Indonesia with 438,300 tons, China with 419,200 tons, South Korea with 299,300 tons and Philippines with 215,000 tons. In containers, 79,700 were exported to Vietnam 34,700 tons, Taiwan 34,700 tons, Thailand 31,200.
- According to a forecast by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, wheat production in the country will be 137.72 million tons in 2022/23 (+0.6% compared to 2021/22), corn production is projected at 277.2 million tons (+1.7%) and soybean production is estimated at 20.3 million tons (+23.7%).
- In 2022, total grain production in China reaches 686.53 million tons (+3.86 more than 2021). The indicator exceeds 650 million tons for the eighth year in a row.
- Over the January-November period, grain imports into China decreased by 11.8% compared to the previous year to 133.2 million tons. Imports of vegetable oils decreased by 42% and meat imports declined by 23%. During the period, deliveries from Ukraine were 5.1 million tons - a drop of over 50%.
