In their October report, USDA analysts estimated sunseed oil production in Russia for the 2023/24 season at 6.774 million tons (+166,000 tons compared to October and +434,000 tons compared to 2022/23). Exports are expected to reach 4.2 million tons, and the sunseed production is projected to be 17.5 million tons.
Due to a lack of financing in the 2024/25 season, winter crop areas in Ukraine will decrease by 20% compared to 2023/24.
In 2023, Germany's barley production was 1.498 million tons (1.933 million tons the year before), but only 0.784 million tons meet brewing quality standards (a decrease of 38.9% from the previous year). This is the lowest production in many years.

By the end of the year, Indonesia's state agency Bulig will purchase 500,000 tons of feed corn from Latin America. The initial plan was to buy 1.34 million tons of corn by the end of the year.
According to AmSpec Agri Malaysia's assessment, palm oil exports from Malaysia increased by 5.6% from September to 606,900 tons during the period from October 1 to October 15. Intertek Testing Services estimated exports at 623,200 tons during the same period (+7.3%).
