According to data from the Grain Exchange in Rosario, considering the heat and drought over the past two weeks in Argentina, soybean crops have died on approximately 100,000 hectares.

From the beginning of the season until February 12, 2024, Ukraine has exported 25.523 million tons of grain, compared to 29.159 million tons a year earlier. This includes 1.647 million tons in February (2.188 million tons previously). Wheat exports amounted to 9.969 million tons (10.388 million tons), barley exports were 1.466 million tons (10.388 million tons), and corn exports reached 13.822 million tons (16.718 million tons).

According to data from the Rosario Grain Exchange, due to heat and drought in the last two weeks, approximately 100,000 hectares of soybean crops in Argentina have been lost. In the country, about 500,000 hectares or 26% of all crops are in very poor condition (10% worse than a week earlier). 40% of the crops are in fair condition, and 10% are in good condition. Only 14% of the crops remain in good condition.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, in December, Australia exported 564,300 tons of canola (compared to 534,300 tons in November). Major recipients of canola were Germany with 125,100 tons, France with 98,100 tons, and Japan with 97,900 tons. December 2022 exports reached 703,200 tons, with an expected drop to around 500,000 tons in January.

At the end of January, palm oil reserves in Malaysia reached 2.02 million tons, which is 11.8% less than the end of December and the lowest level in the last six months. Production in January was 1.4 million tons (-9.6%), and exports were 1.35 million tons (-0.85%).

Protests by Indian farmers have blocked traffic around major cities in India. The protests are related to guaranteed minimum prices for their production and guaranteed procurement. Additionally, they demand improvements in medical services for farmers and other social benefits.

On February 13, 2024, Jordan purchased 60,000 tons of hard wheat with delivery scheduled between May 1-15 at a price of 253 USD/ton C&F. At the previous tender, 120,000 tons of wheat were purchased with delivery in early April.

Algeria is looking to buy 160,000 tons of corn from Argentina or Brazil with delivery starting in early March. A tender has also been announced for the purchase of 35,000 tons of soymeal with the same delivery deadline.

At a corn purchasing tender, Egypt has received proposals for the delivery of 530,000 tons of corn from Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania, with prices ranging from 192 to 275 USD/ton C&F and payment after 180 days.
