USDA Has Increased Its Forecast On Corn Yield In South America

USDA made another upward correction of its forecast on the world corn production in 2016 – 2017.

This time the growth is 4.5 mln tons to 1 053.8 mln tons versus 963.32 mln tons in 2015 – 2016. There has been a yield increase in Argentina too +1 mln tons to 38.5 mln tons and 29 mln tons over the past year, Brazil +3 mln tons to 93.5 mln tons (67), South Africa +0.4 mln tons, Mexico, Indonesia and Pakistan.

Safrinha areas in Brazil are estimated higher in March. Corn yield in Russia has been decreased to 15.3 mln tons.

Corn export has been increased to 154.4 mln tons worldwide (+1.5) including from Argentina up to 26 mln tons (+0.5) and from Brazil up to 32 mln tons (+1).

At the end of the current season, corn ending stocks in the owrld will be 223 mln tons (+2.3 or +5.3% versus the previous season).
