USDA: 2016 – 2017 World Wheat Production And Ending Stocks Get Another Increase

In their April forecast, USDA analysts increased the 2016 – 2017 wheat production worldwide by 0.29 mln tons versus the March forecast up to 751.36 mln tons, which is 16.13 mln tons more than 2015 – 2016.

There has been yield growth in Pakistan up to 25.6 mln tons (25.3 and 25.1), Russia up to 72.53 mln tons (72.5 and 61.04) and a number of smaller producers more.

Over the season, world wheat export will be 179.58 mln tons versus 180.12 mln tons in the previous forecast and 172.2 mln tons in 2016 – 2017. There has been an index decline for down to 23.0 mln tons (24.0 and 15.8), Brazil down to 1.4 mln tons (1.6 and 1.06), Canada down to 20 mln tons (20.5 and 25.5), Kazakhstan 7 mln tons (7.5 and 7.6) and Russia 28 mln tons (28.5 and 25.5).

World wheat ending stocks will be 252.26 mln tons (249.9 and 241.7).

Wheat yield in Ukraine remains unchanged at 26.8 mln tons, but the export forecast has been increased by 0.8 mln tons to 26.8 mln tons.
