In its April report, APK - Inform analysts decreased their forecast on this season's grain export from Russia to 35.1 mln tons, which is 7.7% lower than the previous forecast.

Wheat export will be 25 mln tons (-7.4%), barley export will be 3.5 mln tons (-7.9%) and corn export will be 5.5 mln tons (-8.3%). Export will be +2.4% higher than 2015 – 2016.

Between October and February 2016 – 2017, the amount of corn exported from Ukraine to Iran was 1.7 mln tons, which was 17% of the total Ukrainian corn export. Over the period, Iran was the biggest Ukrainian corn buyer. Export was 0.67 mln tons a year earlier. The 2016 – 2017 corn consumption in Iran will grow by 26% versus the previous year to 11.1 mln tons.  

According to a UkrAgroConsult fprecast, this season's soybean production in Ukraine will be 4.12 mln tons versus 4.28 mln tons a year earlier. Soybean areas will be 1.95 mln hectares (1.9), but production will drop to 2,170 kg/hectare (2,300). Soybean export is estimated at 2.8 mln tons (2.37). 2.3 mln tons of soybeans have been exported since the start of the season.

3.051 mln tons of oilseed oil were produced in Russia in the first half of the season, which was 13.5% higher than last year's level and a record for this time of the season. Sunflower oil production has reached 2.468 mln tons since the start of the season, which is a record level (2.183).
