Algeria: grain crops production rises to 4.6 million tonnes
In 2017grain crops production in Algeria will reach 4.6 million tonnes, by 1.3 million tonnes more than 2016.

The growth of production is due to rainfall during the period December - January.

According to an estimate by the Ministry of Agriculture in Algeria, the crop of soft wheat and hard wheat will exceed 3.0 million tonnes and that of barley 1.5 million tonnes.

Areas under grain cultivation in Algeria are estimated at 3.5 million hectares, given 3.3 million hectares in 2016.
