Grain Highlights 19.07.2022

The EU plans to unfreeze some of the funds of top Russian banks to facilitate transactions in the global food and fertilizer trade, a draft document showed.

- According to a government forecast, grain exports from Russia will be 50 million tons in 2022/23, including wheat exports of 37 million tons.

- According to the data of APC - Inform, 1.4 million tons of grain were exported from Ukraine in June, which is 43% less than June 2021 - 2.5 million tons and 22% more than May 2022 - 1.1 million tons. 1.2 million tons of corn (-29% and +12%), 142,700 tons of wheat (-78% and +320%), 36,200 tons of barley (-44% and +320%) were exported.

- Over the period of July 1-17, 130,000 tons of sunseed oil were exported from Ukraine, including 26,470 tons to Turkey, 18,400 tons to Poland and 15,000 tons to Bulgaria. The export of sunseed meal was 66,590 tons, including for 20,840 tons Romania, 12,600 tons for China and 11,190 tons for Turkey. Exports of soybeans were 61,200 tons and rapeseed exports reached 11,500 tons.

- Agritel forecasts a soft wheat production in France in 2022/23 of 33.25 million tons (35.43 in 2021/22).

- According to USDA data, as of 07/17/2022, the harvesting campaign of winter wheat in the United States has been completed on 70% of the areas (+7% for the week and 71% last year). 71% of spring wheat crops (+1% for the week), 59% of barley crops (+1%), 35% of sorghum crops (-5%), 64% of corn crops (64%) and 61% of soybean crops (-1%) are in good and excellent condition.
