France: Soft wheat export in October hits lowest level for the last 8 years

In October, the export of French soft wheat to third countries has dropped to 293,000 tons according to the country's customs services. It has been the lowest export for this month of year since 2007.

348,000 tons of soft wheat were exported to third countries in September.

During the first four months of the new season, France has exported to third countries 1.8 mln tons of soft wheat, which marks a 32 per cent decrease compared with the same period of the previous year.

The country's total soft wheat export in October (plus EU delivery) was 685,000 tons, which is 31 per cent lower than the previous marketing year.

In November, soft wheat import into France has increased to 192,000 tons, including 131,500 tons from Bulgaria. During the first four months of the season the import has reached the level of 435,000 tons, which is 103 per cent higher than the same period of 2015 – 2016 marketing year.
