Germany increases wheat export

Despite the weaker harvest, Germany has increased its wheat export to non-EU countries during the current season.

2,194 mln tons of grain have been exported from Germany to third countries for the first five months of the season, which is 9% more than the previous season. Wheat export grew by +23% up to 1,903 mln tons.

Germany is the second biggest wheat exporter in the EU, after France. COCERAL information shows that grain harvest in the country is 45,652 mln tons for the current season (48,887 mln tons for 2015 – 2016), including 24,541 mln tons of wheat (26,498).
