Canadian wheat export is below average

Canadian Grain Commission aanounced that, during the current season, Canadian wheat export keeps below the average level for the past five years. 8.436 mln tons of wheat have been exported from Canada for the first 25 weeks of the season compared with 8.12 mln tons in the previous year and the average of 7.28 mln tons for the past five years.

Hard wheat export reached 1.88 mln tons (+0.33 and -0.31). Current season wheat yield in the country is 31.7 mln tons compared with 27.6 mln tons in the previous marketing year.

20.64 mln tons of grain (-0.5) were exported from the country before January 22, 2017.

USDA estimates that wheat export will be 21.0 mln tons (22.1) throughout the season. Howeve, the pace is currently slow despite the big harvest.

2.837 mln tons of wheat were milled into flour in Canada between January and November 2016. Canadian Office of Statistics reported the production of 2.135 mln tons. 2.791 mln tons of wheat were processed in the same period of 2015 with 2.12 mln tons of flour produced.
