Sunflower yield in Argentina will be the highest in the last five years.

Oil World analysts projected that sunflower yield in Argentina will reach 3.4 mln tons in the current season compared with 2.83 mln tons in the previous year. This will be the highest index in the past five years.

Sunflower areas have grown by +3 mln decares to 16.4 mln decares. Meanwhile, yield will be lower in some regions due to the drought and a decrease in yield forecast is quite likely.

25% of sunflower areas were harvested before January 26, 2017. Generally, season-long harvest is expected drop by 13 kg/decare compared with the previous year down to 213 kg/decare.
