Wheat and barley export from the EU has intensified.

762,000 tons of wheat were exported from the EU in the week ending on January 31, 2017 which is a very good level for the current season. 14.7 mln tons of wheat have been exported from the EU since the beginning of the season, which is lower than the previous season.

Weekly wheat fodder export has reached 192,000 tons which is a good season level. 

Oil World reported that EU member states decreased soybean import by 0.7 mln tons between September 2016 and January 2017 down to 5.1 mln tons. This has been the lowest index for the past five years. Import has marked the biggest drop in Germany, The Netherlands and Spain. Import will be standard until the end of season – the same as last year. The total import will be 4.3 mln tons until the end of season compared with 15 mln tons a year earlier. 

During the past week, the European Commission confirmed licences for the import of 55,366 tons of Ukrainian wheat agreed in the tariff agreement. 730,522 tons of wheat have been imported or 76.1%. 15,800 tons of barley have been imported in the EU since the beginning of the season or 5.9% of the quota.
