India introduced new regulations on wheat import since January 1, 2017. The regulations concern treating all grains with certain chemicals before they are imported.
Egypt's state commission GASC has announced an auction for the purchase of 30,000 tons of soybean oil with a random origin and to be delivered before 30.03.2017.
Snowstorm in the USA restrict the export from the country, namely delivery to ports in the Gulf of Mexico. Asian buyers turn to alternative suppliers such as China, Australia and Russia. Attempts for delivery from Brazil and Argentina will take much longer than the three countries mentioned above.
In 2016 – 2017 (December - November) wheat yield in Argentina exceeded 17 mln tons according to information from the country's Ministry of Agriculture. The previous forecast was at 16.5 mln tons, and the 2015 – 2016yield was 11.3 mln tons.
In the next three years, the authorities in Egypt plan wheat production growth in the country of 8 mln tons per year up to 10 mln tons.
Wheat stocks in Yemen are sufficient to meet the domestic demand until the end of March.
