Most of the crops in Northern Ireland have a good spring start. Some contamination is already attacking the plants following the relatively warm spring.

On March 8, 2017 Jordan will carry out an auction for the purchase of 150,000  tons of barley fodder of random origin, to be delivered between May and June.

India might soon increase the import tax on wheat from 0% now up to 25%.

Japan's Ministry of Agriculture has allowed grain processors to use the country's strategic corn stocks. Current corn stocks which consumers are holding are critically low as a result of delayed delivery from the USA following the bad weather. 330,000 tons of corn and 10,000 tons of wheat are allowed to be used until the end of February. Strategic grain stocks in Japana are 850,000 tons. 

China's national corporation Cofco has bought the remaining 49% off grain-trading company Nidera. A total of 3 billion USD was used in the company purchase.

German wheat remains in demand from Northern African and Middle Esat countries. A ship loaded with 30,000 tons of wheat is to set off from Hamburg to Algeria. 63,000 tons and 50,000 tons of wheat for Saudi Arabia were exported from other German ports.

Israel has announced an auction for the purchase of 85000 tons of corn, 45,000 tons of wheat fodder and 30,000 tons of barley fodder to belivered between April and June.

29.43 mln tons of grain were exported from Ukraine between the beginning of the 2016 – 2017 season and March 1, 2017. The export consisted of 13.56 mln tons of wheat, 4.66 mln tons of barley and 11.05 mln tons of corn. The country’s Ministry of Agriculture estimated that 39.487 mln tons of grain were exported from the country in the whole of 2015 – 2016, which is 13.5% more than 2014 – 2015. 40 mln tons of grain are expected to be exported during the current marketing year.
