Grain Yield In The EU To Rise In The New Season

According to the EU's latest forecast, grain yield in the EU will reach 313.0 mln tons in 2017, which is 6.3% higher than 2016 – 2017.

Soft wheat yield will rise by 6.5% to 143.0 mln tons, barley will be up by 5.0% to 62.7 mln tons, corn will rise by 10.3% to 66.6 mln tons and rye will grow by 13.7% to 8.3 mln tons. Durum production will go down by 2.2% to 8.8 mln tons.

France expects grain yield growth of +25.8%, Germany expects +7.0% growth and grain yield in Poland is expected to rise by +4.8%.

European countries export potential will reach 42.8 mln tons (35.2 mln tons in the current season), including 28.9 mln tons (24.0) of soft wheat, 9.8 mln tons (7.1) of barley, 2.5 mln tons (2.3) of corn and 1.3 mln tons (1.6) of durum.
