Rapeseed Import In The EU Grows

According to information from Oil World rapeseed import in the EU has grown for the past few months. Between the start of February and March 14, 2017 there was 50% growth on the previous year and reached 0.7 mln tons. Australia and Canada are the biggest rapeseed suppliers.

Analysts estimate that high demand of rapeseed in the EU will continue until the end of June in view of the large-scale processing. Another factor causing the big import is the weak  2016 rapeseed yield – 20.22 mln tons (22.31 mln tons in 2015).

Import will reach 3.9 mln tons (3.5) during 2016 – 2017 while processing will be 23.31 mln tons (24.32).
