Strategie Grains Increased Forecast On 2017 – 2018 Rapeseed And Soybeans Yield In The EU
In their April report, Strategie Grains analysts increased their forecast on rapeseed and soybean production in the EU in 2017 – 2018.

Rapeseed yield will reach 21.73 mln tons, which is +6.7% more than the previous 2016 – 2017 versus 21.58 mln tons in the March forecast. Rapeseed areas have been reduced by 0.3% to 65.1 mln tons while production is up by 7% to 3,340 kg/hectare.

Sunflower production will be at 8.61 mln tons (+4.2% and 8.63 mln tons). Areas will grow by 2% to 4.17 mln ha while production will increase by +2.2% to 2,070 kg/hectare.

Soybean yield will be up by +6.2% to 2.58 mln tons versus the March forecast of 2.51 mln tons. Soybean areas have grown by +12.1% to 0.93 mln hectares. Production will be down by 5.2% to 2,770 kg/ha.
