130,300 tons of corn were imported from Ukraine with 126,500 tons more from the USA including 41,700 tons of white corn and 84,800 tons of yellow corn. The import of American yellow corn was resumed in February. In January and February, over 80% of the yellow corn imported in the country was delivered from Ukraine – 191,100 tons. Between May and December the amounts of yellow corn were delivered from Argentina while white corn was delivered from Mexico.

Over the first 48 weeks of the current season, which started on 1.05.2016, 1.596 mln tons of yellow corn were imported in South Africa including 993,800 tons from Argentina, 371,000 tons from Ukraine and 100,000 tons from the USA. White corn import reached 683,100 tons including 538,700 tons from Mexico and 144,500 tons from the USA.
