Turkey Increased Soybean And Sunflower Import In February

According to information from Oil World, in February 2017 Turkey increased soybean import to 190,000 tons versus 122,000 tons in February 2016.

Sunflower import has increased, too, up to 39,000 tons (28,000) but rapeseed import was down to 2,000 tons (58,000).

In February, sunflower oil import reached 58,000 tons (79,000) while palm oil import was 53,000 tons (82,000). Traders presume there might be increase in the tax on imported sunflower oil, which is now 360 USD/ton. Excluding Russia from the list of non-tax supplier countries will be a major factor for the reduction of sunflower import in Turkey.

Over the past month, sunflower meal import in Turkey reached 108,000 tons (82,000) while soybean meal import was 63,000 tons (85,000).
