733,000 tons of rapeseed were exported from Canada in February versus 781,000 tons a year earlier. Rapeseed oil export was 263,000 tons (278,000) while rapeseed meal export was 356,000 tons (327,000). 6.42 mln tons of rapeseed have been exported from the country (5.53) plus 1.79 mln tons of rapeseed oil (1.6) and 2.76 mln tons of rapeseed meal (2.3). Over the same period, China purchased 0.5 mln tons of rapeseed meal, which is a record level for the past six years.

Spring barley areas in France are 0.439 mln hectares, which is 4% more than last year, but 15.5% less than the average level for the past five years. Winter wheat areas are 5.157 mln hectares (-0.1% versus last year and +2.9% versus the average level for the past five years), Durum areas are 0.37 mln hectares (-2.1% and +7.8%), winter barley areas are 1.473 mln hectares (-0.3% and +18.3%) and winter rapeseed areas are 1.434 mln hectares (-7.5% and 5.5%).

The Philippines will purchase 490,800 tons of rice to complete their reserves, which have dropped below the minimum level. 250,000 tons of rice will be bought immediately.

The Japanese weather beureau increased the possibility of  El Niño occurrence in August.

AgRural analysts have increased their forecast on soybean production in Brazil in 2016 – 2017 to 111.6 mln tons. The reason for the increase is the good weather over the territory of the country for the past few months. As of 7.04.2017, 82% of the soybean areas in Brazil have been harvested, which is 4% more than the average for the past five years.
