Soft wheat yield is 143.8 mln tons versus the March forecast of 143.9 mln tons and versus 135.8 mln tons over 2016, barley yield is 61.3 mln tons (61.4 and 59.9) while corn yield is 60.4 mln tons (60.5 and 59.8). Soil humidity is minimal in countries like Spain and France and this can quickly change the good forecast on the yield, unless abundant rain does not fall soon.

This season's forecast on wheat export from the EU has been upped by 300,000 tons up to 23.5 mln tons thanks to the high demand on behalf of Turkey. Over the year 2017 – 2018, 26.2 mln tons of wheat will be exported from the EU. At the end of the current season, wheat stocks in the EUU will be at 10.1 mln tons, which is 37% less than the previous year and is the lowest index for the past 13 years. This has been predicted by Tallage SAS agency.

FranceAgrimer has lowered its forecast on wheat ending stocks in France over the current season by 0.4 mln tons to 2.6 mln tons. Export forecast remains unchanged at 5 mln tons. Traders believe that export level will be several hundred thousands higher.
