FAS USDA: Barley Export From Ukraine To Drop In 2017 – 2018

Over the new season, Ukraine will decrease the production of wheat and barley; export will decrease accordingly, FAS USDA estimates.

Over the new season, wheat yield in Ukraine will be 23.9 mln tons, which will be 11% less than the current season. Winter wheat areas are smaller, but spring wheat areas will not compensate.

Over the new season, domestic wheat consumption will be 11.7 mln tons (11.4 mln tons in the current season) including 4.7 mln tons of wheat fodder (4.4).

Wheat export will be 12.9 mln tons (-19%) in the new season.

Barley production will be 8.7 mln tons (-12.5%) – decline as a result of smaller areas.

Domestic barley consumption will reach 5 mln tons – no change on the current season.

Barley export will be 3.7 mln tons (-27.5%).

Corn yield will be 28.7 mln tons (+2%) – as a result of the larger areas.

Corn consumption will go down to 7.3 mln tons (7.6).

Corn export will be 21.5 mln tons (+7%).
