FAS USDA: Wheat crops in Canada will go down by 10%

In the new season the wheat crops in Canada will go down to the average level for the last years,and the export will increase.This information is from the latest forecast of FAS USDA.

In 2017 the wheat areas in Canada will be 8.97 mln.ha which is 1% more than in 2016. Now there is a delay with the sowing campaign due to the heavy rainfall and cold weather.

In 2017 – 2018 the yield of wheat in the country will go down to an average level, and the crops will be 28.6 mln.tonnes, which is a decrease of 10% copmared to  2016.

The decreased supply of wheat in the world during the new season and the weakening Canadian dollar are factors for the growth of export by 2.4% to 21 mln.tonnes.

The ending stocks of wheat in the new season will go down by 5.7 mln.tonnes or -14% compared to the current season.
