China activly increases the import of oil crops

According to Oil World's latest data, the uptrend in oil imports in China remains intact in the first quarter of 2017.

During the period the increase of soybean import reached 20% and rapeseed import - 36%. Larger purchases are linked to reduced stocks of oil crops in China by the end of 2016.

Chinese soybean import reached 19.5 mln. tonnes during the period, compared to 16.3 mln. tonnes a year earlier, incl. From US 15.4 mln. tonnes (13.09), Brazil 2.7 mln. tonnes (2.5) and Argentina 79 000 tonnes (225 000 tonnes).

During the period January - March 2017, rapeseed supplies amounted to 1.3 mln. tonnes (0.9), all from Canada.

Supplies of soybean meal amounted to 28 000 tonnes (7 000) and rapeseed meal to 204 000 tonnes (25 000 tonnes).
