The sowing of corn and spring wheat in the US is completed on 1/3 of the planned areas

US farmers have sown more than 1/3 of the areas planned for corn and spring wheat, according to USDA.

As of 30.04.2017  34% of the planned areas were sown with corn, compared to 43% a year earlier. Plants have sprouted on 9% of the areas (12% a year earlier and 8% on average over the past five years).

The sowing rates of spring wheat continue to lag behind schedule. As of 30.04.2017 31% of the planned areas (52% and 46%) were sown and plants have sprouted on 9% of the areas (17% and 20%).

The state of the areas with winter wheat remains stable. In good and excellent condition - 54% of the crops, as a year earlier they were by 7% more.
