In the period January-May the import of soybean in China increased by 6 mln.tonnes

The demand for soybean in China continues to increase,so does the import.

For the period April - May the import growth may reach 20% or + 2.8 million tonnes compared to the same period last year to 17.5 million tonnes, according to Oil World. In the forecast, total soybean purchases from the beginning of the year will reach 37.02 million tonnes given 31 million tonnes a year earlier.


China's key soybean supplier will be Brazil, which only in April exported 8.35 million tonnes of soybean to the Asian country.


For the period April - May soybean oil imports to China will peak for the last two years to 0.18 million tonnes (0.04) and 83% of it -  0.15 million tonnes are from Brazil. During the first five months of 2017,the import of this product in China  will reach 0.27 million tonnes (0.14).
