Japan's Ministry of Agriculture didn't receive any offer for delivery of grain in the auction carried out on May 10th, 2017

It was planned 120 000 tonnes of forage wheat and 200 000 tonnes of forage barley with delivery until October 31st, 2017 to be bought. The next auction with an analogous demand will be held on May 17th, 2017.


Japan plans to buy 138 188 tonnes of milling wheat from the United States, Canada and Australia. Delivery will take place between June 21st – August 20th, 2017.

From the beginning of the wheat purchase campaign in Egypt, contracts for 1.03 mln.  tonnes have been concluded. This is 27% of the planned quantity. The campaign will end on July 15th, 2017. During the season the government will use state storehouses to keep grain with capacity of 3.13 mln. tonnes given 1,528 mln. tonnes in 2015-2016.

In the current season Chinese farmers will cut areas under corn cultivation by 2.5% compared to the previous year to 35.84 mln. ha. According to forecast of the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, the corn yield will amount to 213.19 mln. tonnes (-2.9%). Areas under soybean cultivation will increase to 7.9 mln. ha (7.16), and the yields will reach 14.1 mln. tonnes (12.57).

On May 9th, 2017 the Taiwan Flour Mill Association purchased 95 750 tonnes of US milling wheat at  price of 223.4 - 261.46 USD/mt, FOB.

According to data from market operators, the Egyptian state-owned GASC has purchased 30 000 tonnes of soybean oil.
