France raised its forecast for wheat and barley export

FranceAgriMer raised its forecast for soft wheat export from France during the current season from 10.845 mln. tonnes to 11.075 mln. tonens

Despite the raised forecast, compared to the previous season, the decrease is 47.2%.

Compared to the previous month, the forecast for wheat export to non-EU countries increased significantly by + 0.2 mln. tonnes to 5.2 mln. tonnes. However, this is by 60.4% less than the previous season.

The export of barley will be 5.187 mln. tonnes (5.115 and -32.5%).

The forecast for corn export is lowered to 4.6 mln. tonnes (4.695 and -24.6%).

France's Ministry of Agriculture published a forecast for the new season areas under corn cultivation for the first time.  1.388 million hectares will be sown with the crop, which is 2.3% less than the previous year. The result will be by 14.5% lower than the average rate for the past five years. The total of areas under grain cultivation in the country will be 9.544 million hectares (-0.2% compared to 2016 and + 0.3% compared to the average five-year rate). Winter soft wheat is sown on 5.163 million hectares (0% and 3.0), winter barley on 1.474 million hectares (-0.2% and 18.4%).
