Perspectives for the winter crops in Morocco are excellent
Grain crops harvest in Morocco starts in the coming weeks. Perspectives remain excellent.

The areas under grain cultivation of 2017 crop  have been expanded to 5.11 mln. ha given 3.6 mln. ha a year earlier.

Grain yield will reach 10.071 mln. tonnes (3.557 mln. tonnes in 2016), incl. wheat 7.0 mln. tonnes (2.7), barley 2.8 mln. tonnes (0.6).

In the current season the grain import into the country will be 9.066 mln. tonnes, incl. 5 mln. tonnes of wheat. Compared to last season, import rises by 23%. In the new season, grain import to Morocco will drop to 7.566 mln. tonnes.
